I have forgotten to post the things I've made, recipes I have worked on since the fire. Let's see what pictures are on my phone...

 Fermented fruit friendship cake starter. Something My family used to do, then someone not in my family gave me a starter I lugged around with me for 20 years. The fire claimed it, so I have started a new one. It was just as delicious!

Impatient for Freezer Meal-Making

Meals are being made and I just keep freezing the left overs. Spinach and Artichoke Casserole This was good split between the two of us on a hungry day, but would also make a great side for maybe 8 spoonfuls. Grease a pie plate and add the mixed combination of: 2 handfuls cut spinach 6.5 ounce jar marinated artichokes drained and minced 1 cup rehydrated, slightly seasoned (broth), broken into smaller pieces soy curls 2 cups crushed tortilla chips 2 mushrooms, minced 2 green onion stalks, sliced 1 cup bechamel (oil, flour, nutritional yeast, almond milk, salt, pepper, garlic) Bake about 350f for 45 minutes, or until browned, or bubbly. The Hotdogs I steam in parchment and foil wrappers. These might do good on a grill or a stick over fire but I have not tried it. I fry it in a pan to give it crispy edges all around. Impatient Training and Reboot

Husband decided that he wanted to learn to cook (without having to follow silly recipes). The first weekend was a basic yeast bread. Second was a jewelled, vegan rice (tvp, rice, seasoning, pistacchios, broth, dried apricots, raisins, onion, tomato, red bell pepper). Third, I ended up with strep throat, but had pulled out a pork roast to thaw-gave him written directions how to use the dutch oven with coal for the piece of meat- how to preheat, etc, outside. Pulled out seasonings for him to use his own judgement on so he can gauge seasoning use. Everything has come out pretty perfect! Never having had strep before, it has been/is still an interesting thing to go through. The first day I just thought it was monthly issues, then 3 am I began throwing up. By the second days' evening, my throat was sore and swollen, I pretty much figured I would die before my 21 year old cat. On the third day I went in to see a doctor because I realized it wasn't allergies and found it hard...

Impatient to Clean the Freezer Out Before Fall (Vegan Muffins, Vegan Shwarma meat, Goulash, Stuffed Mushrooms, Black Bean Burgers)

7/26 Muffins 1 1/2 cups frozen cherries (second time was strawberries) 2 2/3 cups flour (*-1/3) 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 cup sugar (*- 3 tbsp) 1/2 cup oil (I may try to reduce this to 1/4 cup) (*use only 1/3 cup oil) 1 cup almond milk 1 tsp vanilla 2 tsp apple cider vinegar 350 F for about 35 minutes, or until golden. I got 15 muffins out of my batch. (Still made 16 even with reducing flour, sugar, and oil) ** These seem highly unstable depending on humidity. I live in the desert but it rained last night and batter was way too wet, added more flour this third time. *Also sprinkled half with the coarse sugar on top. Have to make about 5 more batches to finish off fruit in freezer, freeze for tea. 7/27 Black Bean Burgers Smashed and mixed 1/2 cup black beans with 1/3 cup tvp that had been rehydrated with 2/3 cup broth 1/2 cup of bread crumbs Made 3, 1/2 cup serving burgers.
